2014 Northeast Ohio Cornhole Championships Results!
Thanks to the 49 players that participated in the first ever Northeast Ohio Cornhole Championships! This was an invite only tournament that invited the top 64 players in our area to attend and compete for the title.
8 players voted on the players and the players were ranked 1-64. Of the players that attended the top overall player was paired with the lowest ranked player to form a doubles team. Then the 2nd highest player paired with the 2nd lowest, etc… Each team then pitched an SCR to seed themselves in the bracket. This format made for some amazingly close games and SCR scores! I think it worked out great and the doubles tournament may have been my favorite of all-time… In the end the team of Jeff O’Heron and Tim Haywood double dipped the team of Ken Allen and Rick Kuhn to take home the title.
After that we held the singles tournament. Again, each player pitched an SCR to seed themselves in the bracket. Adam Hissner came in as the favorite to win this event and he didn’t disappoint. He was the #1 seed with the highest SCR and didn’t lose a game along the way. Ken Allen finished 2nd by winning 7 games in a row in the losers bracket. Brandon Corwin 3rd and $G-Money$ finished 4th after he won 7 games in a row in the losers bracket as well.

Cornhole With the Gladiators?
Never mind, event cancelled. Had to guarantee $500 in ticket sales and I simply can’t risk losing money on an event which would be likely. Even at $10/ticket I don’t see getting 50 people to go.

Setting Expectations for the Singles League
We have 45 players across 4 divisions. Divisions are split 10/10/12/13.
Singles league is SOLD OUT! Due to time/space limitations we cannot accept anymore players (sadly I’ve turned 5 players away already). The next league will be a doubles league starting the first week of June.
As of now here’s how the weeks break down (subject to change):
3/31 – All divisions play, Schedule – some players start at 6:20pm tonight!
4/7 – Division 2 is off, all other divisions play all night
4/14 – Division 1 is off, all other divisions play all night
4/21 – All divisions play, we MAY stagger start times
4/28 – Division 3 is off, all other divisions play all night
5/5 – Division 4 is off, all other divisions play all night
5/12 – All divisions play, we MAY stagger start times
5/19 – Playoffs, all teams must be ready to play early
We have a lot of games to get in, so there will be nights where you could have to play after 10pm. Sorry, if this is an issue and you no longer wish to participate, I need to know ASAP. Also, I’m hoping a lot of players are ok with starting at 6:20 to help get things going each night. If you can’t play at 6:20, let me know, thanks.

Monday Night League Playoffs TONIGHT! 3/24
The Monday league playoffs will be held at the American Legion Hall on 3/24. Here are the brackets for the playoffs, new this session, 3 games guaranteed for all divisions in the playoffs with the winner of the “Third Bracket” winning beer money ($5).
