Cleveland Cornhole Jersey’s?

I’ve had a few people ask about getting CC jersey’s, so I thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone is interested.  Cost would be roughly $60/jersey (give or take $10).  An example of the style of jersey is shown below, of course they would change with our logo and colors would change, this is simply an example.  Please email me or text me if interested.  Thanks.

Rules

We had an unfortunate incident at league last night where two players could not come to an agreement on how the game was being played.  While the league is meant to be fun and relaxed I also understand that it is also competitive (very competitive at time) and emotions can come out.

I want to say that if there is ever an issue DURING a game being played that two players cannot agree upon that you come to be so that we can address it.  There are many situations (like last night) where there is no official rule in any rule book on what to do about it, but if we can address it early before players start getting into it then we have a chance to come to an agreement.  Once player emotions start coming out, I find it very unlikely that we will be able to solve it at that time in most cases.

That being said, here is the Cleveland Cornhole rule for what happened last night.  At the American Legion Hall the boards are 5-6 feet a part (between sets of boards).  If you are in one of the five foot sections then it is possible that you are not going to be comfortable throwing at the same time as the person next to you (who is playing in a different game).  If this is the case you have the right to wait your turn before you START your frame.  That is, if you want to wait for the person next to you to throw all 4 bags before you START your frame, that is acceptable.  Obviously if everyone does this it’s going to make for a long night, but it is your right.  However, what you cannot do (going forward) is start your frame (say throw your first 1-2 bags) and then stop in the middle, wait for the person next to you to throw all of their bags, and then resume your frame.  Once you start your frame the “traditional” rule of you must pitch a bag within 12 seconds kicks in.  Now of course we do not enforce this 12 second rule, nobody does, so let’s not get carried away with that.  My recommendation is if you’ve started a frame and then the person next to you is throwing at the same time and you are not comfortable with it, that you let them throw a bag, then you throw yours and take turns.

Hopefully that makes sense, if not, contact me and we can discuss.

Knock Down Games

West siders, I’m looking for your vote/opinion on the knock down games.  Knock down games/matches occur as soon as round robin ends each session.  Knock down games are for $20 and currently do not impact the standings, they are simply a match to try and give every team in the league a shot at getting some of their money back.  The team with the best record in round robin plays the team with the 2nd best record.  3rd best plays 4th best all the way down to the last two teams.  Each match is best 2/3 games and the winning team gets $20.

I would like to know if you still like this approach.  It was also suggested to perhaps run two of them, one after round robin and one at the end of the regular season.  Each worth $10 and the one at the end of the season would also count in the standings giving you one last chance to move up and pass the team ahead of you.

Or we could scrap it altogether and add the $20 to the prize pot for the top teams in each division.

Please vote now, thanks.

What Should We Do With the "Knock Down Matches"?

ACO Bags Update

I was able to get 24 sets of bags. 21 are taken so I have 3 more if anyone wants them. First come first served. They should arrive in November and are $75/set with $30 due now.

ACO Majors

The ACO will be running at least three $20,000 “Major” tournaments in 2013-2014 year across the country.  Anyone who is interested in attending they typically have an early bird price to enter of $60/person (must also be a member of the ACO to play, annual ACO memberships are $20).  If you miss the early bird deadline (the WV early bird is already passed), you can get an entry from Ken Allen or Dave Weiser for $70 (instead of the $80-$100 price which is what it would cost if going straight to the ACO to buy in).  Contact one of us if interested.

For more information on the Major tournaments go to www.AmericanCornhole.com

ACO Bags

I have ordered 20 sets of ACO bags.  They are supposed to arrive in November.  10 of those sets are for the league and if all goes well we will start using them for the Winter 2014 session (starting in January).  7 of the other 10 sets have been claimed by players.  They are $75/set and it would be appreciated if anyone that has ordered those bags can at least put $30 down as I am required to pay half now and half later.  There are still 3 sets up for grabs if anyone is interested (first come first served).

Finally, since the bags are very expensive and players have said in the past that they would donate towards purchasing ACO bags, I would appreciate it if the players would follow through on that and donate $5-10 per player (for those that are interested) towards the purchase of the new bags.  Obviously the new bags are a LOT of money so hopefully everyone enjoys them.
