New idea that I am considering, but wanted your feedback on…

With the round robin portion of the session coming to an end next week there are clearly a couple of teams on the bubble.  1-2 teams have a shot at Div I or falling into Div II.  2-3 teams have a shot at Div II or falling into Div III.  In most cases these teams are very similar, but is it fair that one team has to land in the “upper” division where they will probably struggle while the other falls into the “lower” division where they become the favorite to win the division?  Well that’s how it works, but here’s a thought on how to make that a little better (potentially), but perhaps the masses won’t like it.

Once we enter division play (starting 7/9), you play everyone in your division at least 3 matches.  At the end of all those matches the top teams in each division win some money.  My thought is at that time, once division play is over is that:

1 – The team that wins Division II wins the money, but then for the season ending tournament they have to play in the Div I tournament.

2 – The team that wins Division III wins the money, but then for the season ending tournament they have to play in the Div II tournament.

3 – The team that wins the Social division wins the money, but then for the season ending tournament they have to play in the Div III tournament.

Thoughts?
