Big Changes for Cleveland Cornhole

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the literally thousands of players that have come to a Cleveland Cornhole event over the last 9 1/2 years! The players are what makes this game so amazing and I consider each and everyone of you a friend. But it is time for me to let go of the local cornhole scene to spend more time focusing on my family and yes, National Cornhole. No I’m not moving, no I’m not working for the ACL full-time, but I do have more responsibilities with them which I need to focus on and need more flexibility with my schedule so that I don’t miss out on as many family events.

With all of that said I am stepping down as owner of Cleveland Cornhole and will be handing the baton over to Kevin Allen and Tony Rinaldi who will now have control over all Cleveland Cornhole events going forward. I will certainly still be helping until they get comfortable with everything including the last 2 ACL regionals of the 2020-2021 season as well as larger future events, but, it’s their show now and I will be more of an advisor that they bounce ideas off of, or ask for my opinion based on what I’ve learned over the past decade. I will also continue to run Monday nights until the Spring league is over and help them with Thursdays through June.

I certainly do NOT plan on exiting the local scene altogether. I will stop in at tournaments, may help run one now and then. Heck, there’s an outside chance I could even join a league again… but COVID showed me that the amount of time I spent running leagues and tournaments had just become too much for one person. I know you are all in good hands with Kevin and Tony. I know they will continue to focus on what the players want and that’s the most important thing.

Special thanks Dennis Fortney for all of his support and help over the past few years and really everyone who has helped set-up or pack-up boards over the years. As well as the Cahill’s who started this all when they ran NEO Cornhole which I was a part of as a player and they handed the baton over to me back in early 2012.
